APPRENTICESHIP &JOURNEYMEN TRAINING

Make sure that you are enrolled for courses starting this January.  Overhead Electric Crane Operator requires three key components, 1st part is a 16 hour rigging class, 2nd 16 hours classroom instruction on crane operation and then a hands on test once hired at DC Cook.  In this case the customer is the final qualifier for electric crane operation.  Please note the rigging class is also required for bucket truck operators.

Six new courses are being add to our online blended course list; Building Automation, Industrial Automation, Conduit Bending, Electrical Systems, Motors,  Test Instruments and Transformers.  Blended learning means that you will complete a portion of the work online, attend a classroom lecture to fill in voids and answer questions before attending a hands-on workshop.  The cost for each of these courses runs $100.00 which includes books and other reference materials.  Some of the workshops will be in Indianapolis and Merryville IN.  Call if you are interested in any of these courses and we will get you started.

Applications are down and we need your assistance in sending us the best possible

applicants that you know.  With our apprenticeship numbers at a near all-time low it’s time to start rebuilding our ranks.  With about 1 out of 5 making it into apprenticeship we are seriously looking for 100 more applications before year end; this will insure that we have a good pool of candidates to draw from for our spring class.
